I Shall Return

The title, “I Shall Return” comes from the famous lines of the leading General Douglas MacArthur in the WW2. He promised the Philippines that he would return to liberate Manila when the American troops were forced off the islands.

On the Leyte shore, the General and his men fulfilled the promise. The naval battle that ensued was the largest one in all of history.

To this day, General MacArthur is praised and always remembered as a hero in the Philippines.
