The Golden Hour

Our dreams are bigger than us

But they’re not as precious

As this present moment

My feats teach me later

The zombie I was

Wasn’t me being human

–obviously I knew

I listened for answers

Seldom, but still so

I blew out of proportion

Cause it was me

The world was doing things to

I answered with a monkey mind

And straight to it I said:

“I’ll laugh if you give me a reason”

An attempted courage grew

Faltered with the shattered bust

Somber as the dusty June

I sang into a grave

I would never forget how

Precious is our time

Things didn’t happen as I’d willed them to

I thought then it was enough

And how sad to let a dream go

Like a misty breath he blew

But all of it reminds me

With a lighter heart

There’s not just these nighttime blues

You are courage

With will like the universe

That connects in the projections of your actions

Abundance

Does not fall short

With you my beloved I’ve never felt more boundless

And it’s here and now I pay my price

So forgive my short comings

Where I feel this continues to manifest:

It seems I’ve awaken in this dream

Where love is too mighty for me

And I too mighty for it

Swallowed forcibly in a dull mood

Words that follow rapidly

And later words I’d wished I’d subdued

Keep coming back to me

And there you are a solid root

Reminds me again the eyes that long

For maybe a summer night reflected

In the stillness of the past

I project and I am wrong, the details lost in content

But the distance song was not of sorrow

Fervently I wake again

And see

How do I not always realize?

Here and now:

All your love

All your love that always awaits me

Not in yesterday or tomorrow

but here. I vow to try and try and try again.

My morning perfected cradle

My true concept of an angel

How I keep an image of

The grace felt on our breezy lazy days

In my aim to make stable

And a love that does not hesitate

To give you all that we may be

All the love of the universe

And the beauty that surrounds thee
